Come strictly dance‘S Lauren Oakley steps up to replace Amy Dowden, who was taken to hospital after the collapse. While Dowden recovers, Oakley will train with the boy band star on Monday.

Dowden has Crohn’s disease and missed the 2023 series of Strictly because she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May last year, but in February 2024 doctors found ‘no evidence of the disease’.

The sun reported fears that the professional could quit Strictly, something that has never happened in the BBC show’s 20-year history. Meanwhile, her celebrity partner JB Gill said Dowden would be delighted they made it through to Icons Week on the Strictly Results show.
