Leeds teenager suffers ‘serious head injuries’ after e-bike accident

A teenage boy has suffered “very serious head injuries” after a collision between an electric bicycle and a car.

The crash happened just after 1pm GMT on Sunday at the junction of Lombard Street and Sherbrooke Avenue in Leeds and the 16-year-old e-bike rider remained in hospital on Monday, West Yorkshire Police said.

The male driver of an Audi Q7 was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, but has since been released under investigation.

The police have asked people who saw the collision to contact them.
