1000 Pound Sisters star Tammy Slaton surpassed her weight loss goals, and her doctor shared how she managed to make the ‘thrilling’ transformation.

The 38-year-old, who once weighed 725lbs, made drastic lifestyle changes resulting in a satisfying transformation, which was documented on a US TV show with her sister Amy.

In the most recent episode, Tammy couldn’t believe how much weight she had actually lost and appeared over the moon when her doctor revealed that she no longer needed a wheelchair to get around.

Smith has been the expert who has guided her on her weight loss journey and spoke out for the first time since her client reached her goal weight.

In a clip from the episode, Tammy reflected, “At rock bottom, I weighed about 725 pounds.

“The last time I saw Dr. Smith was about nine months ago and I weighed about 420 pounds.

“He told me I needed to lose 100 pounds before my next appointment.

“I’m extremely nervous.”

The scale read 303.8 pounds when she stepped on it, which Smith noted was simply “unbelievable.”

In conversation with People Magazine, he shared his amazement and pride in his patient.

The expert said: “I was absolutely thrilled for Tammy and incredibly proud of her progress, but not surprised.

“Tammy has consistently demonstrated her dedication to making sustainable lifestyle changes to maximize the benefits of her surgery.

“I emphasized the importance of making small daily adjustments to ensure not only your continued progress, but also your long-term success.

“She is truly committed to her health journey.”

According to him, weight loss involves establishing daily habits, not big end goals – a process that seems more manageable.

Tammy now hopes to qualify for skin removal treatment, which removes any excess skin that may hinder her progress.

Dr. Smith commented on this and said, “Generally, we want patients to have achieved the majority of weight loss and maintained a stable weight for 3-6 months before proceeding with skin removal.”

He added: “However, in Tammy’s case, she has a significant amount of loose skin that is affecting her mobility and contributing to other health problems.

“Given this, it makes sense to consider surgery sooner rather than later, even if she continues to lose weight in the future.”

The doctor says he only feels “pure joy” when thinking about how far she has come and the positive changes she will continue to make in the future.
