Additional TX personnel deployed to North Carolina for recovery efforts

AUSTIN, Texas (KAUZ) – Governor Greg Abbott’s office announced that the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has deployed additional emergency management personnel to North Carolina to continue supporting Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.

The additional personnel were sent at the request of North Carolina Emergency Management.

This deployment of resources is coordinated within the framework of the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC). The Office of the
The governor said EMAC is a state-to-state mutual aid system that allows states to provide assistance and share resources with another state in response to a disaster or emergency.

The governor’s office said Abbott has deployed a total of more than 400 first responders, personnel and equipment to support Hurricane Helene and Milton response and recovery efforts in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.
