Suspect arrested in fatal shooting of 20-year-old woman in North Alabama
A suspect has been arrested in a fatal shooting that occurred Monday in Hazel Green, but no charges have been filed so far, according to a statement from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
On December 2, sheriffs responded to a domestic shooting incident in the 100 block of Butch Circle, Hazel Green, Alabama.
Upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies found 20-year-old Jo’Miya Ann Wilson dead on the porch of the home.
An investigation revealed the victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
The suspect has been arrested and taken to the Criminal Investigation Department for questioning.
Sheriffs say the investigation is ongoing.
“The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community and will work diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event,” the news release said.
“Any additional details regarding this death investigation will be released as more information becomes available.”
