PeaceHealth Announces Plans to Build New Behavioral Health Hospital in Springfield

PeaceHealth has revealed plans to build a new inpatient behavioral health hospital in Lane County.

According to PeaceHealth, the new facility, called Timber Springs Behavioral Health Hospital, will be located near Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield and will offer inpatient services for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, as well as outpatient treatment.

PeaceHealth is planning to partner with Lifepoint Behavioral Health, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, to build and operate the new facility.

“PeaceHealth is proud to announce Timber Springs Behavioral Health Hospital and help meet a significant community need for expanded mental health resources,” said Alicia Beymer, chief administrative officer at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in RiverBend.

In a strategic public-private partnership, Timber Springs will be built near the planned Lane Crisis Stabilization Center, improving access to behavioral health resources in the community. The hospital is expected to open to patients in 2027.
