Sherwood Police say road rage incident left man injured in shooting, suspect in custody

SHERWOOD, Ark. — Sherwood police say a man was injured after investigators said a road rage incident led to a shooting over the weekend.

According to the Sherwood Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in the area of ​​Trammel and Landers Road around 4:50 p.m. Saturday. According to police, the victim was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the stomach area.

Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Detectives said they identified a 52-year-old man as the suspect. Police have not released the suspect’s name at this time.

The suspect was taken into custody and investigators say it was determined the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident.

The suspect is facing a second-degree battery charge in connection with the shooting.
