Getting Answers: Wheel theft concerns in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, MA. (WGGB/WSHM) – Western Mass News received a tip from a viewer concerned about car wheel thefts in Holyoke. The viewer who contacted us suggested we check out Allyn Street, so we went there and found a car, on blocks, with no tires or wheels in sight.

The viewer described these types of crimes as an epidemic in the city. However, Holyoke Mayor Joshua Garica said this doesn’t always happen, but he agrees it’s extremely frustrating when it does.

“There are many quality of life challenges in our city that are already on my radar, and we are an urban community with quality of life challenges. You know, I can tell you that the entire police department is investigating them accordingly, Garcia noted.
