Emmerdale character’s life turned upside down after death triggers revelation | Soaps

Emmerdale’s Caleb Miligan (William Ash) has always been a bit of a naughty boy, but his latest stunt will see him in the kind of hot water he could finally end up drowning in.

He may be a perpetual naughty boy, but he’s also someone who is slow to understand that his own wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) is not someone to mess with.

Yet here we are, and this time he’s outdone himself in the way he cheated on her – which takes some work, given that on the Ruby scale of reaction, she’s barely batted an eyelid in her months-long affair with Tracy (Amy Walsh).

Caleb is hiding a big secret – that Ruby’s mother reached out to him before she died, hoping to reconcile with her daughter. Caleb initially refused, then made a deal for 100 thousand to unite the two women.

Unfortunately for Helen, she passed away before the deal was finalized, but not before she had already transferred the money.

Did Caleb tell Ruby what happened? He hell. He pocketed the money and kept it for himself.

He even remained quiet as Ruby showed her surprising distress over unresolved issues with her late mother.

But Ruby is about to discover a truth, and it’s not just about money.

As Helen’s will is read, Caleb becomes nervous because she is about to find out what he did. When Ruby reacts with horror to one of the documents, Caleb is sure he has been tricked, but there is another betrayal floating before Ruby’s eyes.

The document reveals that Helen maintained secret contact with Steph – Caleb and Ruby’s estranged daughter.

Ruby feels completely lost at this revelation. She finds comfort with Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and shares her gratitude that even though her own family was in a car accident, at least Caleb gave her a link to the Dingles and a new family network. Little does she know what Caleb really did.

It’s only a matter of time before she finds out about the money, and no doubt this Steph will soon come out of the woodwork in search of her inheritance. Is Ruby’s life about to implode?
