Kylian Mbappé remains silent since alleged rape investigation in Sweden

ALBAWABA – French football player Kylian Mbappé has made his first comment since investigating a rape case in Sweden.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star is in trouble after his trip to Sweden last week, where he visited a nightclub while being investigated in a rape case, Swedish media outlet Expressen reported on Monday night.

The website revealed that Kylian Mbappé is being accused of rape and being investigated by the country’s police.

When did the alleged rape happen?

On the night France secured their UEFA Nations League victory over Israel, the 25-year-old French player went to a nightclub in Stockholm to celebrate the victory (4-1 for France), but is now accused of rape and sexual abuse.

In detail, Mbappé had dinner at Chez Jolie restaurant in Stockholm on October 10 and then went to a nearby nightclub called “V”, the Swedish media outlet reported.

The police report indicates that the alleged sexual assault took place on Thursday, inside the nightclub, but the complaint was made on Saturday, two days after the incident.

“This is a matter that is now being led by a prosecutor,” revealed police spokesman Daniel Wikdahl in Sweden.

The Real Madrid star’s representatives denied the accusations in a statement to AFP.

They also added that they are unaware of the allegations and accusations against Mbappé and vehemently deny them, stressing that they are false and wrong.

Both Mbappé and the complainant will be questioned before the pursuer in Sweden.
