Terrifying game planned for next year as third film terrorizes box office

A game based on the Terrifier film series is set to be released next year.

Terrifier: The ARTcade Game will be a beat ’em up inspired by classics such as Streets of Rage and Double Dragon, in which players take on the role of the iconic Art the Clown from the films.

The ultra-bloody Terrifier 3 is currently in cinemas terrifying audiences – it’s the highest-grossing film in the series to date, beating rival clown Joker: Folie à Deux at the box office.

The Terrifier game, however, takes on a more cartoonish appearance for its blood-soaked antics.

It is being developed by Relevo and published by Selecta Play, both known for their colorful, retro-inspired games.

The game will see Art the Clown destroy movie sets in over-the-top pixel art action. It will also feature local co-op for up to four players, as well as six different game modes to vary gameplay.

The launch is scheduled for 2025 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

For a horror experience now, check out the Silent Hill 2 remake, described as a “bloody triumph” in our Silent Hill 2 Remake review.

Or, for something more retro, the PS1-inspired Crow Country launches this week on PS4 and Switch, in addition to launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in May.
