“The victim, a woman known to him, was informed.”

It comes just days after former Metropolitan Police officer David Carrick was charged with eight sexual offenses against two women.

Carrick was charged with five counts of indecent assault, two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

Hertfordshire Police also accused the former officer of coercive and controlling behavior.

The 49-year-old is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 17, the CPS added.

Detective Chief Inspector Iain Moor said: “The charges arise following an extensive and complex investigation carried out over several months.”

Lisa Ramsarran, CPS chief prosecutor in Thames and Chiltern, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorized Hertfordshire Police to charge David Carrick with sexual offenses against two women.

“David Carrick has been charged with five counts of indecent assault, two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

“He was also charged with one count of coercive and controlling behavior.

“As criminal proceedings against this defendant are ongoing, there should be no reports, comments or sharing of information online that could in any way prejudice his right to a fair trial.”
