Trump stops answering questions after medical incidents at Pennsylvania town hall

Former President Donald Trump cut short a Pennsylvania town hall meeting on Monday, cutting off public questions after two medical emergencies occurred in the crowd.

The campaign town hall at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center & Fairgrounds in Oaks, Pennsylvania, was first interrupted when South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, the event’s host, was discussing Vice President Kamala Harris’ appearance on “The View ” and criticizing the Democratic candidate’s support for President Biden’s energy policies.

“Wait. A doctor, please,” Trump intervened, noticing a commotion in the crowd. “Doctor, thank you very much. We have amazing people. They come here hours before and it’s a little hot.”

“They are with us all the time. We have to respect them,” Trump continued, referring to his supporters. “And don’t be in a hurry, doctor. Don’t be in a hurry. Thank you very much. We always have great doctors in the audience. We’ve never had many problems. Look at the quality of care we have. It’s amazing when you think that these people, the first responders, our first responders are incredible.”

The incident was not captured on camera, although the New York Post reported that “a heavyset, middle-aged man was carried away on a stretcher with his shirt open.”

“We’re going to wait until they take care of this incredible person who I guarantee is a great patriot, I guarantee it,” Trump said. “Everyone in this room is a patriot.”

The Republican presidential candidate requested that “Ave Maria” be played over the loudspeaker, as was the case at his recent comeback rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in honor of firefighter Corey Comperatore, the rally attendee killed during the first assassination attempt on the Trump’s life on July 13th.

“We will be praying for him,” Noem said of the transported man before answering another question from the audience.

“I wish we could open these doors,” Trump said. “For security reasons, they can’t. But you know what I said? Just open them. Because anyone who walks through those doors, you know what’s going to happen to them.”

“It appears, sir, that she is up and leaving. Let’s encourage her,” Noem said. “I know it’s very hot here. Everyone agrees it’s very hot here. We have a lot of people who love America. I’m going to ask that if you have a chair, maybe sit down so everyone around you can sit and still see the president.”

“They’re both fine. Yes, they both are. They’re both in good shape. And that’s wonderful,” Trump said of the two audience members who needed medical attention.

Trump then decided not to answer any more questions from the crowd, asking organizers to play music at the venue.
