'Money lost while trading': Hyderabad trader dies by suicide

HYDERABAD: A software professional turned trader identified as K Vamshi Kumardied by suicide in his place of residence Malkajgiri after suffering losses while trading. The incident happened late on Sunday and came to light on Monday. His father, Venkateshwara Kumar, works as an assistant sub-inspector in the Railway Police Department.
Police said Vamshi Kumar, 31, previously worked for a technology company in the US IT corridor. A few years ago he quit his job and started trading full-time. He lived with his parents Gautam Nagar under Malkajgiri police station.
On Sunday evening he went to their newly built house nearby, but did not return home after a long time. Later that evening, Venkateshwara Kumar’s younger brother, who is in Nigeria, called him at home and told him that Vamshi Kumar had not been answering his calls for a long time.
Venkateshwara Kumar said he went to check on his son and eventually found him unconscious. He performed CPR at him and then rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced dead.
Police said Vamshi Kumar called his uncle in Nigeria a few days ago and asked him for some money to make up for losses on his investment.
“According to the family, he has lost a large amount of money in the trade and the loss could have made him take the extreme step,” said B Satyanarayana, station officer of Malkajgiri, adding that a case has been registered and further investigation into the matter is going on. .
