Woman found murdered at luxury Hamptons resort and spa: police

Authorities on Long Island are investigating the apparent murder of a woman found dead Monday at a luxury spa and resort in Southampton.

The victim, whose name and age have not yet been released, was a guest at the Shou Sugi Ban House in Watermill.

Officers with the Southampton Police responded to the exclusive facility Monday around 12.30 pm, after an employee reported finding a dead person in a guest room, NBC New York reported.

Investigators said the person was the victim of violence, but provided no further details.

A neighbor told Long Island News 12 that the facility has a “good reputation,” adding that they had “I’ve never heard anything negative about it.”

It’s a “total shock,” the neighbor said.

The victim’s cause of death is still under investigation.

Shou Sugi Ban House, located on Montauk Highway, is described as a “private sanctuary and fenced grounds surrounded by evergreen trees and lush grasses.”

A company spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday morning.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Suffolk County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 631-852-6396.
