Naruto reveals how deadly Boruto’s karma has become after the time skip

Boruto: Two blue Vortex is now in the midst of battles against the Divine Trees, and the latest chapter of the manga has revealed just how deadly Boruto’s use of Karma has become since the time skip. Boruto: Two blue Vortex has introduced a new version of Boruto’s world three years after the events of Boruto Boruto: Naruto next generationsand Boruto has been training during all this time to become strong enough to defeat Code and Kawaki. But after the time skip, an even greater enemy has emerged as the Divine Trees must now be dealt with first.

It’s something that Boruto and Kawaki discuss when they first meet outside Konoha and talk about their current situation. While Boruto reveals why he has yet to try to tell the others that Kawaki is using Eida’s power to change history, he also explains why he tries to avoid Karma as much as he did as a child. Because if he uses it now, he’ll be closer to completely losing control of Momoshiki than ever before. It’s just not worth the temporary power boost.

Boruto’s new karma problem explained

Boruto: Two blue Vortex previously teased that the power of the Karma Brand was far more dangerous than during the first series. Kawaki noted that Boruto was seemingly unable to control his karma power when Kawaki started to resonate with his, and he asked about this in Chapter 15 of the series. Kawaki asks why Boruto can’t seem to control his Karma, and Boruto reveals that he actually tried to use that power in a battle that took place outside the Hidden Leaf Village during the three years skipped. And he felt completely possessed by Momoshiki at that moment.

Boruto explains it as a feeling where he stopped being who he was, and even started dying while still being aware of his surroundings. Since this battle, Boruto has not used Karma. He fears losing control of his body completely to Momoshiki, but for some reason the Otsutsuki has remained inactive for the past three years. Boruto doesn’t really know why, but he’s still afraid that activating Karma would cause Momoshiki to emerge, despite the Otsutsuki being seemingly silent. This means that Boruto will miss his true greatest strength in the battles against the Divine Trees.

Boruto makes a new deal with Kawaki

Now that Momoshiki is a bigger threat then After the time skip, Boruto asks Kawaki for his help again. Although Kawaki is determined to kill Boruto to wipe out the threat, Boruto claims that the Divine Trees are the most immediate enemy. They must work together to have any chance against the two, and Boruto even promises again that he will let Kawaki kill him if he ever loses full control of his body again. Just like the deal they made earlier in the main series.

This fear of karma also reveals why Boruto trained as he did over the course of the time jump. He has revealed a greater power and control over his jutsu that he had been learning all along, but now a large shadow looms over it all. Boruto has been afraid of losing control of himself, and his training has been his way of compensating for that inherent weakness. But as Boruto faces an uncertain future, Momoshiki can really show up and interrupt things at any time.
