Worker killed in Bay Park construction accident – ​​San Diego Union-Tribune

Authorities have publicly identified a 40-year-old construction worker who was killed this weekend in a heavy machinery accident at a job site in the Bay Park neighborhood.

Cesar Abarca Carillo of San Diego was struck by a backhoe at the construction site on Morena Boulevard near Littlefield Street around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the county medical examiner’s office.

Paramedics took the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the agency said.
