School employee charged with domestic violence-related crimes: Buckeye PD

Officials with the Buckeye Police Department say one of their school employees has been arrested.

The arrest was announced in a statement released on the afternoon of October 29.

“The Buckeye Police Department has learned that School Resource Officer David Ellison was arrested last night by Goodyear Police on charges of domestic violence against a family member,” reads part of the statement. “These allegations are disturbing and inconsistent with our core values ​​of integrity, safety, respect and compassion.”

Police in Buckeye said they are cooperating with the criminal investigation, which is being conducted by the Goodyear Police Department. The case is also the subject of an internal investigation.

“Officer Ellison has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of this investigation, which is standard protocol,” reads part of the Buckeye Police Department statement.

According to the affidavit, Ellison had served as a school resource officer at Verrado High School for more than a decade.

“We have notified the school district and designated an officer to take over SRO duties at Verrado High School,” part of the statement read.
