The community is honoring two Altoona high school students who died in separate crashes

Early Sunday morning, 17-year-old Lundyn Treese was killed in a car accident in Altoona. Later that same day, Keaghan Smith Price, who had just turned 16 the day before, was killed in a crash in Bedford County. The Altoona Girls’ Soccer Team held their first match since the incidents on Tuesday evening.

“Keaghan, a 10th grade student, was a member of the Mountain Lion Football Team. Keaghan exemplified a good work ethic, who was respectful and had the ability to bring freedom to many situations. And Lundyn, a 10th grade student 12th grade, was a member of the Lady Lions Soccer Team had a love of life and the ability to make others feel welcome and loved, leaving a positive impression on those who spent time with her,” said the soccer game host.

During the game, many fans and team members wore Treese’s jersey number in honor of Treese. Her senior poster was hung and many students and community members placed flowers and other items around it. The girls soccer team visited the memorial before the game, wearing t-shirts decorated in memory of Treese.

“Seeing Lundyn in passing, or when we would end up in the same place together, was just an amazing thing because she had grown up to be such a beautiful and responsible girl,” Altoona Area School District student Lindsey Boose said.

Some community members said Treese would be proud if so many people supported the game.

“She had a smile down her spine. She always had a big smile on her face too. We will miss her. She was one of the best people you could ever ask for in anyone’s life. Friend or family,” said Amber and Aubree Rickens, who lived near Treese.

The Lady Lions took home the win that night by a score of 5-0.
