Lakeside woman identified as victim of crash at Lake Henshaw

Authorities have publicly identified a 54-year-old woman who died two weeks ago in a traffic accident on a rural highway near Lake Henshaw.

According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, Robin Blankinship of Lakeside lost control of the 2014 Toyota Sienna she was driving on State Route 76 in the Morettis Junction area on October 16 shortly before 5 p.m.

The eastbound vehicle left the roadway about a half-mile east of Mesa Grande Road, struck several trees and overturned, CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber said.

Blankinship died at the scene of the crash.
