Woman caught trying to steal ‘samurai sword’ on flight leaving LaGuardia airport

A woman was caught trying to steal a “samurai sword” from her carry-on luggage at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, authorities said.

The gun was discovered when the woman, who has not been identified, was examining her luggage before her flight on Monday, a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) spokesperson told NBC News.

TSA officers quickly contacted Port Authority Police, who confiscated the large blade.
