Tributes were paid to a National Health Service worker who died suddenly. Bradley Cook, 27, of Waltonworked in the anesthesia department at Arrowe Park Hospital in Wirral.

Adam Crowley, 25, from Western Derbywas one of Bradley’s closest friends and was shocked to learn of his death last week, on Wednesday, October 9th. Adam described him as a “loyal, kind-hearted person” who helped “save lives every day” in his work.

Adam was first Bradley at school and they quickly became good friends. He told the ECHO: “Honestly, he was the nicest lad I’ve ever met. He would never say a bad word about anyone. I met him in sixth grade. He was a little older than me.

“He went to college and decided it wasn’t for him. I started talking to him and we were taking the same courses. I introduced Brad to the rest of my friends and he became an integral part of the group. Everyone who knew him loved him so much.

“We became very close friends. He went to Edge Hill University after that and I started working at the SNS. I was a huge blue, he was red. More than anything, he simply loved Liverpool. He would go to as many games as he could. Liverpool was a big part of his life. At the same time, he wasn’t bitter at all. Because he cared about his teammates, he would want Everton to do well too.”

Bradley also loved music, which is how he met his girlfriend Jamie-Lee. Adam said: “She was a big part of his life. Since we were little, at the age of 17, we went on many trips. We went to Tomorrowland in Belgium, all kinds of festivals.”

Adam is still struggling to come to terms with his friend’s death. He said: “It’s a bit confusing. He had just turned 27. We booked a meal at The Restaurant Bar and Grill in Liverpool this Saturday for about 12 of us. We had just sorted it out.”

Adam has now launched a fundraiser. This will go towards Bradley’s funeral and to support his mother Caroline. He said: “After about a day I spoke to the family and they approved the fundraiser. So far £13,000 has been raised – that’s how much he was loved. Brad lived at home with just his mother. He paid half the bills. It was a huge help financially. Any money left over from the funeral will go to her.”

In a message left at the fundraiser, his colleagues at Arrowe Park’s anesthesia department said: “No words can be enough to describe how much we will miss you, Brad. Always super helpful, cheerful and lifting the spirits of the place. We all really loved working with you. You will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.”

Adam added: “He spent his life saving people’s lives. Because of that, what happened to him now seems so unfair.” To donate to GoFundMe click here.
