Man stabbed while trying to stop couple fighting in Huruma

A 29-year-old man was stabbed and killed when he tried to intervene and stop a fight between a couple in Huruma area, Nairobi.

the police said John Olando Ambwaye was stabbed in the neck and bled to death upon arrival at a local hospital following Tuesday afternoon’s incident.

His neighbors – a woman and a man – were fighting when he tried to intervene and stop the confrontation.

Witnesses told police that the man punched and floored his wife during the confrontation when Ambwaye tried to intervene and stop the same.

At that point, the attacker took a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the neck.

According to police, he disappeared from the scene. A team of detectives arrived on the scene shortly after the incident and started a hunt for him without success.

The man’s body has been taken to the morgue pending an autopsy. The wounded The woman was taken to a local clinic where she was treated and discharged.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are looking for a known suspect in the murder.

He said police have not recovered the deadly weapon in the incident.

Meanwhile, a Sierra Leonean was found dead in his apartment after failing to report to work.

Sansey Mangeh, 68 years old, worked in Nairobi.

He had not reported to work on Monday, October 28, when some of his colleagues decided to check on him.

He had also not responded to his calls, causing alarm among his colleagues.

His body was found in his serviced apartment in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

A cleaner rang the room bell with no response, prompting them to open the door and find the deceased unconscious next to the bed.

Paramedics were called and confirmed he was dead.

It was determined that the deceased was staying alone in the apartment. The cause of death is not yet known.

The body was taken to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Elsewhere in Nambale, Mungatsi location in Busia County, the lifeless body of a male adult was found on a maize plantation in Mundembu village.

Police officers rushed to the scene and found Collins Kamano Lubanga, 25 dead with deep cuts on the head, chest and both arms.

The body was taken to Butula Sub-County Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

No arrest has been made so far and police say they are investigating a homicide.
