Tom Holland Explains How His Sobriety Journey Inspired His New Non-Alcoholic Beer

Many celebrities have created a mint liqueur, but Tom Holland is bucking the trend by launching a non-alcoholic beer, BERO.

The “Spider-Man” movie star launched BERO on Wednesday and said in a press release: “For me, BERO is personal. Two years into my sobriety journey, I wanted to create something that reflected my lifestyle and values.”

Holland first embraced sober living after starting drinking in Dry January in 2022, which he spoke about with Jay Shetty on his “On Purpose” podcast, calling it “the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Holland said in the announcement: “This beer is not just for those following a similar path, but for everyone who appreciates quality, craftsmanship and living life to the fullest. BERO delivers the taste and experience of a great beer, and never asks you settle for less.”

According to the ad text, BERO offers “not only exceptional taste, but… is a brand designed to be aspirational and inclusive, aiming to honor all the best aspects of beer. It’s made for discerning drinkers who want more from life, whether or not alcohol is part of the equation.”

The range includes Kingston Golden Pils, named after Holland’s hometown of Kingston Upon Thames; Edge Hill Hazy IPA, named after the Holland school; and Noon Wheat, named after Holland’s beloved schnauzer.

Holland told Shetty last year that after a particularly boozy holiday season, he decided to give Dry January a try and just went with it — not that it wasn’t “difficult.”

However, when his birthday arrived that June, he discovered it was worth it.

“I could sleep better. I could deal with problems better… I felt better. I felt fitter. And I said to myself, ‘Why am I so obsessed with drinking this drink?'” he said at the time .
