HP DesignJet Printers: Attackers Can Access SMTP Server Logins

Certain HP printers are vulnerable and attackers could exploit a security vulnerability.

According to the alert message, the vulnerability (CVE-2024-5749) is classified as“high“. If the attacks are successful, SMTP server access data can be viewed. HP developers are not currently explaining how such an attack could occur.

The DesignJet T730 and T830 models are specifically affected. The firmware candela_dist_pr2_001.2419B is protected against the described attack.
