Call for diversity – Park Record

Call for diversity – Park Record

As we approach the upcoming elections, it is critical to reflect on the importance of diversity in our local government. Diversity in political thought is not only useful. It is essential for balanced and fair representation of our community.

Currently, the entire Park City Council, the mayor, and the Summit County Council are all Democrats. Of the 12 county offices in Summit County, none are held by Republicans.

This election we have a unique opportunity to introduce a moderate conservative perspective to our local government. Adding a moderate conservative to our local government will ensure that the conservative portion of our population, which is often overlooked, has a voice in local government. Including alternative points of view can lead to more balanced decision-making and a more considered and inclusive policy.

In the upcoming elections, I urge all citizens, regardless of their political leanings, to promote this diversity in our local government and consider voting for Ari Ioannides for Summit County Council. Let’s show that our community values inclusivity in all aspects, including political ideology.

Thanks for considering this perspective.
