Ishpeming man accused of stealing phone and construction site tools

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – An Ishpeming man has been arrested for stealing a cell phone and tools from a construction site.

James Fisk, 29, was arrested on October 25 on a parole hold and booked into the Marquette County Jail. On October 29, an arrest warrant was issued for four charges: theft from a building (a misdemeanor), two counts of receiving and concealing stolen property valued at $200 to $1,000 (a misdemeanor), and theft from $200 to $1,000 (a misdemeanor ).

The investigation leading to Fisk’s arrest began on October 14, when the Marquette Police Department (MPD) responded to a complaint of a stolen cell phone. The theft occurred in the 300 block of Pine Street in the City of Marquette. Investigators have identified a possible location of the missing phone at a home in the city of Ishpeming.

MPD detectives, with the assistance of officers from the Ishpeming Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of E Street in Ishpeming on October 25. The stolen mobile phone was located in the home.

During the search, detectives also found tools matching the description of items stolen from a construction site in the 400 block of E. Ridge Street in the City of Marquette during the weekend of Oct. 11. An additional search warrant was obtained to specifically search for the stolen tools. As a result, several stolen items have been recovered.

Fisk was given a total bond of $11,000.00 cash/surety on all four charges.
