WARREN — Police arrested a suspect after a Wednesday morning shooting that left a 42-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Warren police.

Officers were dispatched around 8 a.m. to a home in the 700 block of Fourth Street SW, where they found Timothy Williams suffering from gunshot wounds. Williams was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition was not disclosed.

The suspect, taken into custody at the scene, was allegedly involved in an altercation with Williams inside the home before the shooting, according to police dispatch records.

Warren detectives continue to investigate the incident. The name of the person who was arrested was not available Wednesday.

Councilwoman Honeya Price, D-6th Ward, who represents the district where the incident occurred, issued a statement addressing the shooting.

“I feel it is imperative to address the tragic shooting that occurred earlier today in our community. My heart goes out to the victims and their families during this incredibly difficult time,” Price said. “Violence has no place in our city and we must come together to support those affected and work to prevent such incidents in the future.”

Authorities asked anyone with additional information about the case to contact city Detective John Greaver at 330-841-2723.
