Kentwood man accused of raping teens in deserted area

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WAFB) – The Tangipaoha Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested a man who allegedly raped a juvenile he took to a deserted area.

Officers said Marcus Elzie, 34, of Kentwood, was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Tuesday, Oct. 29, on one count of second-degree rape.

The sheriff’s office reportedly began an investigation last week after the Department of Children and Family Services tipped them off about a juvenile who may have been sexually abused.

Through their investigation, detectives say they learned Elzie took the victim to an abandoned location in Kentwood and committed the crime.

Elzie was taken into custody in Pike County, Miss. on Thursday, October 24. and later transferred to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
