Independence man sentenced to more than 31 years for sexually abusing teenager

INDEPENDENCE, Ore. (KPTV) – A man will spend more than 31 years behind bars in connection with a child abuse investigation, according to the Polk County Prosecutor’s Office.

Steve Brian Wooldridge, 39, was found guilty of four counts of first-degree sexual abuse, three counts of first-degree sodomy, three counts of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and one count of incest.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, the victim was between 15 and 16 years old when the abuse took place. No further details about the investigation were provided.

Wooldridge was sentenced to 31 years and three months in prison. He is not eligible for any form of parole or reduced sentence. After his release, he will also have to serve a period of 140 months of supervision and register as a sex offender.
