WASHINGTON − Independent presidential candidate Cornel West has asked Supreme Court to ensure poll workers in Pennsylvania let voters know they can write in his name on Election Day.

West filed that emergency request days before Tuesday’s election after failing to get on the ballot in the battleground state.

The West is more likely to withdraw votes Vice President Kamala Harris then from former President Donald TrumpP.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court supported the Secretary of State’s decision that West did not have the required certifications for most of his presidential electors and was thus ineligible.

When West sought relief from the federal courts, U.S. District Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan said the rules appear to deliberately make it more difficult for third-party candidates to get on the ballot. But Ranjan said it was too close to the election to intervene.

An appeals court also denied West’s request for relief.

West, a philosopher, activist and author, told the Supreme Court to intervene so that Pennsylvania election officials cannot avoid responsibility by running out the clock.

Even though Pennsylvanians are already voting, West said he still has the constitutional right to be elected by the millions of residents who will vote Tuesday.

The cost to the state of quickly posting notices of his candidacy at every polling station, he told the court, is a reasonable price for violating his rights “and dragging this dispute to the point where emergency relief is necessary.” “

West is asking the court to issue such an order by Friday.
