Brett Favre slams Biden and Harris in remarks at Green Bay Trump rally

When Brett Favre took the stage Wednesday night at former President Donald Trump’s rally outside Green Bay, the former Hall of FamerPackers quarterback basked in the attention of excited fans and crushed Trump’s foe in next week’s election.

“It’s an honor to be back here where it all started campaigning for the next president of the United States, Donald J. Trump,” he told the crowd at the Resch Center in the Green Bay suburb of Ashwaubenon.

The meeting took place less than a week before Tuesday’s election, pitting Trump against Vice President Kamala Harris.

The candidates and their campaigns each cross this critical swing state in the final days before the election Harris is also holding a rally in Madison on Wednesday evening.

Favre compared the Packers to Trump’s organization and said they are both winners.

And he denounced President Joe Biden’s comments to which he seemed to be referring Trump‘s followers as “garbage” when addressed offensive comments comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made this during Trump’s rally on Sunday. Hinchcliffe had called Puerto Rico a “floating island of trash.”

Biden and the White House quickly tried to clarify that Biden was specifically referring to Hinchcliffe.

However, Favre told supporters on Wednesday that Biden’s message was: “we’re trash.”

“I can assure you we’re not shit,” Favre said. ‘How dare he say that? When I look outside, I see police officers, teachers, nurses, grandparents, students. I see ordinary Americans making this country great.”

He said he got involved because of the high stakes of Tuesday’s election.

Favre also slammed Harris, saying it would be “insane to give Kamala four more years in office.”

“It’s time to bench Kamala and use the star quarterback,” he said.

As Trump took the stage, he praised Favre as a “real” leader and praised the strength of the former football player’s handshake.

“Man, he got a hand, you know?” Trump said. “This man shook my hand, his fingers are like sausages. No wonder he can throw the ball so hard.”

Trump also commented on the “bigger” applause Favre received compared to Trump.

Favre played 20 years in the NFL, starting his career with the Atlanta Falcons before being traded to the Packers in his second year, a trade that changed the direction of the organization. He became the first player in NFL history to win three consecutive MVP awards and turned the Packers into a perennial contender. Favre led Green Bay to a Super Bowl title after the 1996 season, its first in 35 years, and another Super Bowl appearance in 1997.

The Packers traded him to the New York Jets after he retired in 2008. He spent a season there before playing the final two years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings.

Favre, 55, announced last month that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a movement disorder that affects the nervous system.

He announced the diagnosis during a testimony at a conference committee meeting about the misuse of federal funds for temporary assistance for needy families in Mississippi.

Favre, a native of Mississippi, does embroiled in the scandal but has not been charged with a crime. He has denied wrongdoing.
