Cyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in accident in Sahuarita

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident in Sahuarita early Wednesday, October 30.

Sahuarita police said it happened around 8 a.m. near Campbell Avenue and Quail Crossing Boulevard. The area is just east of the Old Nogales Highway.

SPD said the vehicle was traveling east on Quail Cross while the bicycle was traveling north on Campbell when the crash occurred.

Speed ​​and impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash, according to the SPD.

The cyclist was wearing a helmet and was transported to a Tucson hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The accident is under investigation and no charges have been filed.
