Families Offered Two School District Experiences Next Week

Oct. 17 — Next week, Ector County ISD will offer two major events that will allow families to experience some of what ECISD has to offer.

First, on October 22nd from 5:30pm to 7pm at New Tech Odessa, the Choice School Expo will give parents and students a look at all the campuses available to Ector County families. ECISD offers nine Choice elementary schools, two Choice middle schools, and four Choice high schools.

The New Tech Network project-based learning program at Gale Pond Alamo Elementary, and the International Baccalaureate programs at Crockett Middle School and, starting next year, Pease Elementary.

During this Choice School Expo, parents can speak with principals and staff from each of the schools and learn about the unique aspects of their programs. The application period for Choice Schools opens in December.

Secondly, on October 24th between 5pm and 8pm, ECISD School Nutrition will host its third annual Food Show & Exhibition at the Marriott. The event is free and open to all ECISD parents, students and staff.

Nearly 1,000 people attended this event last year, sampling foods from the ECISD School Nutrition Department and some of the biggest names in food service. While there, attendees are encouraged to vote on potential and current menu items. There will be drawings for various exciting prizes to show the district’s appreciation for your participation.
