Silver Dollar City Announces New $500 Million Resort Development

They’re calling it “a new era” and a “love letter” to the Missouri Ozarks. And they say it’s the biggest investment they’ve ever made. At a festive event packed with Branson-area VIPs, Silver Dollar City announced a $500 million development plan. It is expected to be built through several projects located west of the 65-year-old theme park. A 7-story, 262-room resort overlooking Table Rock Lake is now under construction.

Missouri Governor Mike Parson accompanied busloads of reporters to the project site. Atop the windy hill, he highly praised Silver Dollar City and its family values ​​and Christian faith.

“You know, being here in southwest Missouri is a big deal. You know, you’re talking about hundreds and hundreds of jobs. Millions and millions of dollars in investments. And then exactly what that will do on the workforce side. You know, the people that come here, all the jobs it’s going to create.”

The resort project is the latest in a series of major capital expenditures by Silver Dollar City over the past decade, such as the Mystic Falls, Time Traveler and Outlaw Run attractions, which cost tens of millions and attracted international attention from park superfans. themed.

Brad Thomas is president of Silver Dollar City Parks & Resorts. He says the Outlaw Run wooden roller coaster helped put Silver Dollar City on the global map in the early 2010s.

“And it has stood the test of time,” he told Ozarks Public Radio. “And you just look at the developments we’ve had since then. Each one of them took us to a bigger audience level, a bigger draw. We’ve watched the cities our visitors come from move further and further away.”

Silver Dollar City’s first new resort is expected to open in late 2026.
