The details

The press release states that Durant, Oklahoma-based BrucePac is recalling approximately 10 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. Ready-to-eat meat and poultry items were produced from June 19th to October 8th. These products were sent to other establishments and distributors across the country and then distributed to restaurants and institutions.

According to the press release, the issue was discovered after the USDA performed routine testing of BrucePac products and confirmed that the ready-to-eat items were positive for Listeria monocytogenes. A subsequent USDA investigation identified BrucePac ready-to-eat chicken as the source of Listeria monocytogenes.
