Liam Payne ‘Offered’ Woman $20K Before Mysterious Email Surfaces, Triggering Destructive Anger

Liam Payne’s final moments at the Hotel Casa Sur in Buenos Aires were filled with chaos, argument and anger, as described by witnesses who met the former One Direction member before he plunged to his death. A witness reported a tense and emotionally charged interaction, during which Payne allegedly offered a woman a large amount of money before becoming visibly upset.

Another guest noted that Payne’s behavior worsened after he saw a troubling email, which led him to violently smash his laptop in frustration. He also reportedly expressed that being in a boy band had “screwed up” his life.

“I’m going to give you $20,000 just because I can,” Payne allegedly told the woman he was arguing with just minutes before his death. Emphasizing his multimillion-dollar fortune, he added: “I have $55 million and I like helping people.” The unidentified woman was reportedly speaking Spanish, which was translated for Payne by the hotel manager, according to American tourist Michael Fleishmann, who spoke to the Buenos Aires Herald.

The singer seemed “very upset, agitated and a little wild, pacing and pacing,” Fleishmann noted. The tourist also commented that the woman clearly seemed “agitated and even a little uncomfortable” with the situation. “It was just my son, me, Liam Payne, his wife and the team,” she continued. The manager was trying to politely intervene and calm him down. There was a palpable sense of anxiety in the area.”

That same night, the singer fell to the ground, reportedly fracturing his skull and suffering approximately 25 injuries across his body, with excessive internal and external bleeding. Payne plunged to his death from the third-floor balcony of his damaged hotel room.

Another witness, who met Payne in the lobby and was one of the last people to see him alive before he fell from the third floor, described the nearly half-hour interaction. During that conversation, Payne reportedly said, “I used to be in a boy band — that’s why I’m so fucked up.” The witness, identified as Rebecca, was at the hotel for a wedding and informed police that Payne was scheduled to check out early in the morning but was still present later in the afternoon.

For context, the former One Direction star checked in with his girlfriend, who left two days earlier, leaving Payne at the hotel. “When I arrived, he was waiting in the elevator and it was clear he wanted someone to recognize him; there was something a little desperate about him,” she said. She claimed the celebrity seemed eager for attention as he introduced himself without being told, stating, “Yes, I’m Liam,” according to POST.

Rebecca, who was with one of her friends, noticed that although they had already identified him beforehand, they were not bothered by his presence. He then said, “Okay, come on, you guys, get in the elevator with me; I love a hug.”

Rebecca opted to wait for the next elevator while a few other girls joined Payne, who reportedly commented, “Oh, you guys are Americans, I live in West Palm Beach. I know Americans. You are crazy! You are very dangerous! He then jokingly pretended to choke one of the girls, which others found disturbing.

About ten minutes later, Rebecca returned to the lobby and saw Payne again, apparently upset after reading something on his laptop. Suddenly he shouted, “Fuck you, man!” and smashed his computer on the floor, shocking guests and staff. After the outburst, a member of Payne’s entourage approached Rebecca to apologize, explaining, “I’m sorry, he gets so high sometimes.”
