Man accused of leading Tuscaloosa authorities on chase in stolen vehicle arrested at travel center

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – Tuscaloosa authorities have arrested a man they say stole a vehicle and led them on a chase before crashing.

Tuscaloosa police initiated a traffic stop near the Oakley Apartments Complex on Oct. 30 on a vehicle reported stolen. Later that afternoon, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a pursuit of the stolen vehicle on I-20/59.

The chase continued until the suspect crashed the vehicle near the exit 86 ramp.

The K9 tracking and search efforts ended Wednesday around 5 p.m. However, the suspect, Justin Finklea, was located and taken into custody at Mary’s Travel Center at 10:12 a.m. on October 31.

Finklea is charged with first-degree theft of property. He is being held without Bond.
