Liam Payne’s death leaves former Clevedon Pier boss ‘utterly shocked’

The former manager of a pier where One Direction filmed one of their videos says Liam Payne’s death has left her “utterly shocked”.

The star died aged 31 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday after falling from a balcony.

Linda Strong ran Clevedon Pier in North Somerset when the band made the ‘You & I’ video in 2014.

Speaking to Claire Cavanagh on BBC Radio Bristol, Strong said Payne was a “talented man” who took the time to speak to her when the band visited the pier.
