Woman killed in Sulfur neighborhood identified on Sunday

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – The woman who was shot and killed in a Sulfur neighborhood was identified Sunday.

Sulfur Police responded to a call to a house on Pipers Lane on October 27 around 11pm.

Officers found Tasha Almanza inside the home with a gunshot wound and began life-saving procedures, Sulfur Police spokesman Jason Gully said.

Almanza was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and later died from her injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
