Incident at Beachwood Mall leads to arrest of fugitive

BEACHWOOD, Ohio (WOIO) – A seemingly minor confrontation at the Beachwood Mall on Oct. 6 took an unexpected turn, leading to the arrest of a fugitive with a long criminal record.

It all started when a 16-year-old boy accused a man, later identified as Kevin Patrick, of staring at his twin sister.

Security footage from the mall was inconclusive, but police became suspicious when Patrick gave a false name and date of birth.

After returning to the station to retrieve a fingerprint reader, he refused to use the scammer.

The officers eventually discovered Patrick’s ID in his wallet.

A records check revealed he was wanted for violating probation.

Patrick’s criminal history includes charges of assault, stalking and kidnapping.

He was arrested and charged with providing false information to police in addition to the outstanding warrant.
