Firefighters battle a fire at a farm in Portage County

PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – A fire broke out at a dairy farm in Portage County’s Shalersville Township Thursday afternoon.

Crews were called to the farm in the 3500 block of Frost Road around 4:20 p.m

The smoke from the fire was so thick that it was picked up on radar.

No injuries were reported, but according to a family member on the scene, a bull and about 15 goats unfortunately died in the fire.

A neighbor was able to save a dog.

The family member told 19 News the shed is a complete loss.
