Novato police arrest four on theft charges

Novato police have arrested four suspects who allegedly conspired to shoplift from a shoe store.

The incident happened Wednesday around 3:15 p.m. at the Designer Shoe Warehouse store on Vintage Way, police Lt. Nick Frey said. The police arrested the suspects in the store.

Police arrested the suspects at the Marin County Jail on suspicion of conspiracy and organized retail theft. They are Samerie Janelle Lee, 49, of Richmond; Donnalee Miranda Encinas, 37, of Hercules; Willie Joe Johnson Jr., 50, of Oakland; and Alexander Armenta, 42, of San Pablo.

Johnson was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a switchblade, tear gas and controlled substances. Armenta was indicted on charges of resisting arrest and providing false identification, as well as outstanding warrants for his arrest.

The suspects were still in custody on Thursday.
