The Quiet Hour now in cinemas

The Silent Hour is a 2024 crime thriller in which Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag in Suicide Squad) plays a Boston police detective who struggles to overcome his hearing loss after surviving a workplace accident.

When a team of corrupt cops tries to silence a deaf witness, Detective Frank and his partner enter the fray, creating a tense standoff in the apartment.

Brad Anderson (the director) has a relatively impressive resume that includes The Machinist (2004) with Christian Bale. Kinnaman, on the other hand, was last seen in Silent Night (2003), where he played a mute character fighting to avenge his dead son.

So the irony of playing a deaf character in The Silent Hour was not lost on anyone. Critics gave the film a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 69 percent, calling it ‘Painless’, ‘Simple’ and ‘Efficient’.

You can watch The Silent Hour on the big screen today if you want.
