Throughout the 2024 calendar year there was speculation in the media that Eriksen might look to move away from the club, but the Dane spoke enthusiastically about continuing his stay following the Barnsley result.

“I feel really good about being at United,” he told the press. “There is one year left (of my contract), so my focus will be on this year, giving my all, and seeing what happens after.
