Update Saturday, October 19: Latest Tropical Storm Oscar news from the National Hurricane Center

The tropical storm was first addressed in an advisory from the National Hurricane Center at 10 a.m. Saturday. Tropical Storm Oscar is 190 miles east-southeast of the southeastern Bahamas and 495 miles east of Camaguey Cuba, with a maximum sustained wind of 40 mph. It’s moving at 13 mph west.

HAZARDS AFFECTING THE EARTH:

WIND: Tropical storm conditions are expected to make landfall first within the warning area this evening, making outdoor preparations difficult or dangerous.

RAINFALL: Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with isolated amounts of 6 inches, are expected in Turks and Caicos, southeastern Cuba and the southeastern Bahamas through Tuesday.
