Hudson Valley oil deliveryman gets stuck under truck

Hudson Valley oil deliveryman gets stuck under truck

An oil delivery driver was hospitalized after a freak accident on Halloween.

On Thursday morning, October 31, police responded to an emergency at a Hudson Valley home involving an oil company employee. According to a news release, the incident occurred at 9:30 a.m. after heating oil was delivered to a home.

Police say they discovered an unconscious man with multiple injuries trapped under a commercial oil truck. Strangely enough, this was the second incident this week involving a person trapped under a truck.

Second person pinned under truck this week

The first incident happened Tuesday afternoon when police were called to Tilly’s Diner in Monticello after a 70-year-old customer was run over by his own car and dragged across the parking lot. In that accident, the elderly man reportedly got out of his own truck to inspect the rear end when the vehicle accelerated into reverse.

Oil delivery man trapped under his own truck

Thursday’s incident is similar to the Monticello accident. After an investigation by Haverstraw Police, it was determined that the man attached a hose to the back of his truck after making a delivery to a home on Buckingham Court in Pomona. According to the report, the truck was parked on a hill and began rolling backwards while the man was standing directly behind it.

Fire and ambulance crews were able to remove the driver from under the truck and transport him to Westchester Medical Center. His condition has not been released.

The Department of Transportation is inspecting the vehicle to determine the cause of the accident.
