Man trying to smuggle illegal drone into India is caught near Bangladesh border

Border Security Force (BSF) troops of 145 Battalion at the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Petrapole, near the India-Bangladesh border, intercepted a Bangladeshi passenger trying to smuggle an illegal drone into India.

The drone was discovered by BSF personnel during a manual baggage sweep at the passenger terminal on Saturday.

The passenger, holding a Bangladeshi passport, was found with a DJI RC2 Mini 4 Pro drone and accessories hidden in his luggage.

He claimed that the drone was for personal use but failed to provide essential documentation including purchase receipts, registration or travel declarations as required under Indian customs regulations and DGCA guidelines for transport of drones.

Following protocol, the passenger, along with the drone and accessories worth Rs 90,000, was handed over to the customs authority for further investigation.
