4 charged in NJ double shooting that left 1 dead

Four people have been charged in connection with a double shooting that killed one person and injured another in July, authorities said.

Lahmeir Hill, 31, of Pemberton Borough, and Sadiq Palmer, 25, of Freehold Borough, were charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and weapons offenses, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Simone K. Moultrie, 53, of Red Bank, was charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and obstruction, officials said. Ticco Griffin, 29, of Red Bank, was charged with one count of obstruction.

The victim, Mikal Muhammad, 36, of Red Bank, was found by police at 3:13 a.m. on the 100 block of River Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the prosecutor’s office said.

A second man who was also shot was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and released after treatment, authorities said.
