Two non-local laborers shot at in J&K’s Budgam continue search to trace assailants – The Week

Two non-local laborers working on the Jal Jeevan project in Mazhama area of ​​central Kashmir’s Budgam district were shot at and injured by suspected militants on Friday evening.

The workers were working at the Mazhama cemetery near the banks of Nallah Sukhnag when they were attacked. One worker suffered a bullet wound to his arm and another to his leg. Both are stable and out of danger.

The two migrant workers – Sufiyan and Usman – were reportedly from Uttar Pradesh.

The area has been cordoned off and a search is underway for the attackers.

Both injured workers were initially treated at SDH Magam and later referred to SKIMS Bemina for further care.

This attack marks the third major incident in recent weeks.

On October 23, Ganderbal, a local doctor and six workers were killed in a targeted attack in Gagangeer. This was followed by an attack in the Gulmarg area of ​​Baramulla in which two army porters and three soldiers were killed.

In the recent series of terror attacks, terrorists of Pakistan-sponsored Jaish-e-Mohammed attacked an ambulance in an Indian Army convoy in Akhnoor sector of J&K.

In counter-terrorism operations, security forces have eliminated three terrorists.

The terrorists were planning a major attack using the Achnoor route, which was traditionally used by operatives of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group, PTI reported.

The terrorists reportedly entered the region through the Battal area and a wireless set seized from them confirmed their association with the JeM.
